Bond Reduction Sought In Mercer County Meth Case

A rural New Boston man wants his bond reduced in a meth case. 52 year old Lester Ward made the request Tuesday morning in Mercer County Circuit Court. The issue will be considered at his next pre-trial conference scheduled for March 2nd. Ward remains in custody at the Mercer County Jail on $400,000 bond. He was arrested on a Class X felony methamphetamine delivery charge last month. He also faces a Class 3 felony of felon in possession of a firearm. Ward was taken into custody after Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputies, Quad Cities MEG agents and Illinois State Police executed a search warrant at his residence.
