A public relations firm based in North Carolina has released a statement on behalf of the City of Aledo and the Aledo Police Department following Mercer County School District Superintendent Tim Farquer’s acquittal in Mercer County Circuit Court on Friday.
The statement, which was provided to WRMJ by Haven Creative, reads, “The City of Aledo and the Aledo Police Department abide by the Court’s determination in this matter. Questions regarding Mr. Farquer’s employment status should be referred to Mercer County School District #404. All other matters can be referred to the Mercer County State’s Attorney’s Office.”
Farquer was charged with four felony counts and four misdemeanor counts after he was arrested by the Aledo Police Department last September. He was acquitted of all charges after a judge ruled the prosecution didn’t provide enough evidence for the case to continue.
WRMJ has not received a response to a request for comment from Mercer County State’s Attorney Grace Waldrup or the Mercer County School District.
