Aledo officials haven’t received a concrete opening date from the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office for the new DMV location in downtown Aledo, but are hoping the facility will open its doors in the next couple of months.
Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch told WRMJ on Monday that the hope is for the driver services facility to be up and running in around two months.
Last month, the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office announced that a DMV would be returning to Aledo in a new location, 129 E. Main Street. The previous Aledo DMV location closed last June after the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office said it was unable to reach an agreement with its landlord on a new lease.
