The City of Aledo is exploring an annual fee for use of the city’s waste disposal site by commercial tree removers.
The ordinance’s first reading was at Monday’s city council meeting. It would set a fee of $1,000 per year for tree services using the waste site south of the city.
Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch says, at times, the amount of dumping at the site can be overwhelming, which is the reason for the proposed fee.
The second reading of the ordinance, and its potential approval, will be at the next Aledo City Council meeting on Wednesday, July 1.
