Alan R. Callahan, 85 of Seaton, Illinois, unexpectedly passed away at his home on Friday, September 13, 2024. Cremation has been accorded, with private burial at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Keithsburg, to be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Seaton Volunteer Fire Department in his name. Alan was born March 27, 1939, at the family’s rural Keithsburg home to Lester and Ruth Willits Callahan. The 1957 graduate of Keithsburg High School went on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1960-1964. While in the Air Force, he was stationed in Europe, more specifically France and Germany. On January 15, 1966, he married Patricia Lingafelter in Aledo. Alan farmed in the Keithsburg/Seaton areas…he took great pride in farming with his sons. After retirement, he took up skeet shooting and enjoyed wintering in Naples, Florida, with Pat.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Pat Callahan; children, Cindy (Jeff) Trauffer, Danny Callahan, and Devin Callahan; grandchildren, Jeffery Trauffer, Sara-Beth Trauffer, Hannah Callahan, and Cody Callahan; and sisters, Ginny (Tim) Smith and Pat (Harry) Bellinger.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
