A Mercer County Sheriff’s Office investigation has led to a New Boston man facing a felony sexual abuse charge.
A press release from the Sheriff’s Office says 23-year-old Gage Welch was arrested on Friday and charged with a Class 2 felony count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse after deputies investigated a complaint.
Welch appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court Monday morning, where he was granted release with conditions, including no contact with the victim.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 30.
