The Aledo Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) location is set to close next month, according to the Illinois Secretary of State’s office.
In a press release to WRMJ, the Secretary of State’s Office announced, “Unable to reach an agreement with its landlord on a new lease, the Secretary of State’s office is closing the Aledo DMV facility on June 11.”
The state says it’s looking for alternative locations in the area to assign Aledo DMV employees.
Other local DMV locations include Monmouth, Moline, Silvis, Galesburg and Kewanee.
