Aledo Mayor Chris Hagloch joined Terry James on WRMJ’s “Mayor on the Air” this week with plenty of updates for the community.
One of the biggest announcements is the long-awaited opening of Market Plaza, located right across from the radio station. The official ribbon cutting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 24, at 1 p.m. Mayor Hagloch said the city is trying to secure a visit from state-level officials.
“We are so excited to finally get this open,” Hagloch said.
Also coming up is Spring Cleanup Day, set for Monday, April 28. Aledo residents are encouraged to set out their items the weekend before, ideally by 4 a.m. Monday morning.
Details about Spring Cleanup can be found at wrmj.com and on the City of Aledo’s newly redesigned website. Mayor Hagloch gave kudos to city staff for their work on the project, particularly Jared, who led the website overhaul.
The Spring Bulletin has also been finalized and is heading to print, with arrival expected in local mailboxes by the end of this week or early next.
Finally, the mayor shared his excitement about the Opera House and its future in the community. “It is a sweet place and I can’t wait until that gets open,” he said. “It’s going to be quite the attraction.”
