Brimfield senior Ava Heinz scored 30 points to lead the Indians (6-2) over Mercer County (3-6) 57-44 in girls basketball Monday.
The Golden Eagles held a 4-0 lead early, but trailed 16-12 at the end of the first quarter and played from behind the rest of the night. Brimfield led 33-24 at halftime and 44-33 at the end of the third. The Indians extended the advantage to as many as 15 in the fourth.
Molly Hofmann was Mercer County’s leading scorer with 15 points. Ev Hofmann scored 11 in the loss.
The Golden Eagles have dropped three games in a row.
The win was Brimfield’s 1,000th all-time victory in girls basketball.
