For the third straight year and the 14th time in 17 seasons, Orion won a volleyball regional championship.
The Chargers (31-6) claimed a 2A regional title on their home floor with a three-set win over Riverdale (21-11-1) 25-20, 25-27, 25-10, Thursday.
Avery Knupp led Orion with 14 kills. Ellie Knupp added 10 kills and Lainey Kunert totaled 24 assists in the win.
Orion advances to the 2A Bureau Valley Sectional, where the Chargers will play El Paso-Gridley (28-7) in Tuesday’s semifinal.
