Riverdale Wins TRAC Boys Golf Meet

Riverdale is once again the champions of the Three Rivers Athletic Conference (TRAC) in boys golf.

The Rams won the conference meet at Fyre Lake Golf Club with a team score of 316 Monday, finishing 18 stokes better than second-place Hall’s 334.

Princeton took third (343), followed by Erie-Prophetstown (352), Mercer County (356), Rockridge (359), Mendota (377), Newman (383), Orion (388), Sherrard (396), Monmouth-Roseville (407) and Kewanee (420).

For the second year in a row, Riverdale senior Aidan Dorathy earned conference medalist honors. He carded an even par 70 to finish first individually. Mason Smyser (third) and Braden Janicki (sixth), both juniors, were also first-team all-conference players for Riverdale.

Mercer County senior Carson Boelens shot a 79 to tie for fourth individually and Sherrard senior Jacob Fratzke fired an 85 to tie for ninth. Both earned first-team all-TRAC recognition.

The rest of the first-team all-TRAC boys golfers were Hall’s Landen Plym and Noah Plym, Princeton’s Jackson Mason and Luke Smith, and Erie-Prophetstown’s Blake Geuns.
