It’s sad to think that there are people in the world who make money scamming a full-time job. However, that’s exactly the case and Illinois State Representative Dan Swanson and Farmers State Bank of Western Illinois are holding a “Scam Avoidance Seminar” to make sure you are prepared.
Listen as Mercer County Sheriff Dusty Terrill, Illinois State Representative Dan Swanson, and Amber Ruggles with Farmers State Bank of Western Illinois talk about the upcoming event.
The event will be Tuesday, August 20, from 9 to 10 a.m., at the Oxford American Legion Post, located at 211 W. A Street in Alpha.
Representatives of the Illinois Attorney General’s office will be on hand to update residents on the latest scams going around and how to avoid being taken in by them. Local sheriffs will attend and discuss scams they are seeing throughout their counties.
The event is free and open to the public. Anyone with questions may contact Rep. Swanson’s office at 309-334-7474.
