A local 4-H volunteer being inducted into the Illinois 4-H Hall of Fame. Phillip Moran of Aledo will be honored during the Illinois State Fair on Aug. 9.
Moran is described as a dedicated volunteer and has steered the Mercer County 4-H Fishing Club for the past 10 years.
In announcing the honor, Illinois 4-H says “through patient guidance and personalized instruction, Phillip empowers each member to build their skills while giving them a sense of belonging, independence, and mastery. He leads his club in a fun and supportive atmosphere as he shares his talents and enthusiasm for fishing.”
4-H youth get to experience fishing at a variety of ponds across the county.
