A New Boston man will serve two years in prison after pleading guilty to a Class 3 felony of felon in possession of a firearm. 56-year-old Lester Ward will voluntarily surrender to the Mercer County Jail on Nov. 25. He is being given credit for 152 days served.
A Class X felony meth count was dismissed as part of the guilty plea.
He was arrested in January of 2020 after Mercer County Sheriff’s Deputies, Quad Cities MEG agents, and Illinois State Police executed a search warrant at his residence.
A separate 2022 DUI and resisting a peace officer case was also dismissed as part of the guilty plea.
