New Windsor Woman Headed To Prison Following Firearm Plea

A New Windsor woman sentenced to five years in prison after entering an Alford plea to a Class 2 felony count of attempted aggravated discharge of a firearm. 33-year-old Lora Scott was arrested last July when she was accused of pointing a gun at a man and pulling the trigger, but the gun did not go off. She was also accused of hitting the man in the face with the gun and choking him.
She was also charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlawful use of weapons, domestic battery, and disorderly conduct, but those charges were dismissed as part of the negotiated disposition entered this week in Mercer County Circuit Court.
