Dana L. Murphy, 52 of Aledo, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Genesis Medical Center, Aledo. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, at the Buffalo Prairie Community Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 26, at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo. Dana was born on June 4, 1971, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Keith and Debby (Pearson) Girls. She married Ben Murphy on February 21, 2003, in Aledo. Dana was very active in her community and worked for Aledo Main Street. She was a member of Buffalo Prairie Community Church. She enjoyed her shopping trips with the girls, cooking, and baking. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Dana is survived by her husband, Ben Murphy, Aledo; children, Hank (Sami) Connor, Curtis VanWinkle and special friend, Samantha Banuelos, and Trenten (Kendra) Murphy, all of Aledo; mother, Debby Girls; grandchildren, Naomi and Keith Connor and Jaxon Murphy; sister, Lisa (Mike) Emendorfer, Taylor Ridge; sister-in-law, Stacy (Sam) Miller, North Liberty, IA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Keith Girls, and her grandparents.
