Ed Erickson, 75 of New Boston, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Genesis Medical Center, Aledo. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, at Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo. Private graveside services, with military rites, will be held in Conesville Cemetery. Memorials may be left for the family.
Ed was born October 13, 1947, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Delbert and Muriel Lee Erickson. The 1965 graduate of Sherrard High School went on to serve in the Untied States Army from 1966 – 1969. On December 31, 1984, he married Kathy Everett in Muscatine. Ed worked as a maintenance engineer for the City of New Boston from 1975 – 2010. In his free time, he liked to help out friends and tinker on cars. Ed had a love of Fords and his 1970 Ford Fairlane. His greatest joy was time spent with family, especially his grandkids.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Kathy Erickson of New Boston; daughter and son-in-law and their children: Jennifer and Ben Sanberg with Charlotte and Brady of Kirkwood; sons and their children: Scott Erickson with Jeremiah and Keturah and Jason Erickson with Derrick; and his siblings: Bonnie Erickson, Ken Erickson, Bob Erickson, and Bill Erickson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Joyce Erickson Mittlestaed.
