Aledo Fall Clean-Up Days Week Of Oct. 17

The City of Aledo is offering its bulk pick-up service again for residents to dispose of their larger unwanted household items during this year’s Fall Clean-Up event.

The city will be offering this service for residents to place their large unwanted items curbside by 4 a.m., Monday, October 17. Only one pick-up truckload of items will be allowed per household and residents are encouraged to use their regular garbage for smaller items to keep this service as cost-effective as possible.

Large appliances such as refrigerators and stoves will also be collected during this service, but they must include an appliance tag. City Hall offers appliance tags for purchase year-round at $5 per appliance, which must be attached to the appliance before any scheduled pick-up day.

It’s important to note that some items are prohibited during this pick-up event. Prohibited items include yard waste, TVs, tires, batteries, oil, paint, other toxic substances, and items over 50 lbs.

As some items are not allowed in landfills, they cannot be picked up during the clean-up event and must be disposed of via Aledo’s E-Cycle program. For example, paint and electronics such as televisions and computer parts must be taken to the Aledo Street Division Garage, located at 309-311 E. Main Street. This program is open on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. and 12:30 until 3 p.m.
