Rockridge played two matches again Fulton Thursday night and won them both to take the lead in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference west division volleyball standings. The Rockets won the first match 25-17, 20-25, 25-20 and the second 25-13, 28-26 to improve to 10-3 on the season and 7-1 in the TRAC. Meanwhile Rivedale beat Sherrard twice to move a half game back of the Rockets. The Rams won 25-10, 25-19 and 25-21, 24-26, 25-9 to improve to 8-4 and 6-1 in the TRAC.
Orion got an early jump on the softball season losing their season opener 13-0 to Geneseo. The Maple Leafs scored 11 runs in the first inning.
Orion-Sherrard nipped Alleman 3-2 in high school soccer.
In Prairieland Conference junior high girls basketball, 7th grade action, Orion beat Mercer County 23-13 and Sherrard stopped Rockridge 28-20. In 8th grade play, it was Orion 23 Mercer County 20 and Sherrard 40 Rockridge 12.
