County Board To Discuss Side-By-Sides Tuesday Night

The side-by-side issue will get attention by the Mercer County Board Tuesday night. The subject has generated plenty of discussion on social media—both pro and con. Mercer County Sheriff Dusty Terrill has expressed some reservations. He says if a side-by-side route is approved through the county, there will not be a dual speed limit, meaning not just side-by-sides, but all vehicles will have to travel 35 miles per hour on the potential route.

The county board adopted a side-by-side ordinance last August and Mercer County Economic Development Director Kasi Henshaw says it’s something that will benefit the county.

Tuesday’s Mercer County Board meeting is being moved from the county board room to the courtroom because a large crowd is anticipated.
