A local developer wants to acquire the vacant lot across the street from the Aledo Police Station. The city owns the property and has recently accepted requests for proposals. Lou Powell wants to develop modern upscale apartments at the site to coincide with the technology recruiting efforts of High-Tech Small Town (HTST). Powell’s proposal was discussed at last week’s city council meeting says Mayor Chris Hagloch.
High-Tech Small Town is currently recruiting six people with the intent that they would relocate to Aledo. Powell is currently renovating the former Gun Report building in downtown Aledo.
