A 2017 Mercer County High School grad receives a top ag scholarship. Nicholas Close is one of three students statewide to receive the IAA Foundation’s Top Scholar award, which amounts to a $5,000 scholarship. He was among 389 applicants. Close will be a junior at the University of Illinois, where he is majoring in Agricultural and Consumer Economics.
