A Quad Cities man pleads guilty to a felony grooming charge in Mercer County. 36-year-old Derek W. Dawson of East Moline was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 81 days credit for time served. He was released Monday following the agreement being entered in Mercer County Circuit Court. As part of the negotiated disposition, Dawson was placed on 24-months’ probation and fined $500. An aggravated criminal sexual abuse charge was dismissed as part of the plea. Dawson was arrested on a Mercer County warrant in January.
