Legislation classifying dispatchers as first responders has won approval in the Illinois General Assembly. The bill was introduced in the Senate by local State Senator Neil Anderson and carried in the Illinois House by local State Rep. Dan Swanson.
Pending the Governor’s signature, Senate Bill 3127 would go into effect January 1, 2023. The legislation won approval in the Illinois House and Senate one week before National Telecommunicator Week.
