Still plenty of chatter about the Mercer County School Board’s decision last week to add classroom space to New Boston Elementary and tear down the three-story portion of the school. The board had been considering an elementary campus in Joy but turned down that option on a 4-3 vote. New Boston Mayor Chris DeFrieze understands the building debate is a sensitive issue, but he’s relieved there is a future for the New Boston facility.
Joy will house all of the district’s pre-k programs next school year.
