The Mercer County Farm Bureau teaming up with the Mercer County Soil & Water Conservation District, and University of Illinois Extension to host a Bioreactor Field Day. The event will be Tuesday, August 22nd at 8:30 a.m. at the farm of Jeff Kirwan, located at 954 305th Street in New Windsor. University of Illinois Water Quality Researcher, Dr. Laura Christianson, will also be on hand to discuss how a bioreactor functions and the science behind them. In addition, the conservation practices program offering cost share for cover crops will also be discussed.
