Wethersfield (15-2, 4-1 LTC) forced Mercer County (9-9, 3-2 LTC) to turn the ball over 25 times in a 57-33 win over the Golden Eagles Thursday.
The Flying Geese led the game from wire-to-wire. It was 17-6 Wethersfield at the end of the first quarter, 33-15 at halftime, and 44-26 at the end of the third.
Wethersfield freshman Lana Scott was the game’s leading scorer with 16 points off the bench. Kennady Anderson added 13 points and Lajaya Angel was also in double figures for the Flying Geese with 11 points.
Sydney Lamkin led Mercer County in scoring with nine.
