Sherrard senior starting pitcher Aidan Terronez struck out his 300th career batter in the Tigers’ (15-7, 8-0 TRAC West) 16-8 win over Riverdale (9-15, 5-5 TRAC West) on Saturday.
Terronez took the win on the mound after allowing three runs on two hits in 5.2 innings. He struck out 14 batters, which brings his career total to 307. Terronez is the second player to reach 300 career strikeouts in the Sherrard baseball program, joining Cody Adams.
The Tigers trailed 1-0 before exploding for 11 runs in the top of the fifth inning. Eli Matson went 2-4 with a home run and four RBI for Sherrard.
