Size Of Asian Carp Catch In Sturgeon Bay Doesn’t Mean Quantity Of The Invasive Species, Just Yet

Although there is concern that a 76-pound Asian carp was pulled from Sturgeon Bay near New Boston last week, there doesn’t appear to be an issue with the quantity of the invasive species in that area of the Mississippi River, just yet.  That assessment from Dr. Jim Lamer—the site manager for Western Illinois University’s Alice L. Kibbe Life Science Research Station.

The research station—based in Warsaw, Illinois– promotes teaching and research in field biology and ecology. Among the current projects is monitoring Asian carp in Illinois waterways.
