Sharon A. Moffitt, 72 of Aledo, Illinois, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m., Thursday, October 17, at the First Baptist Church of Aledo. The Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, October 18, at the First Baptist Church of Aledo. Sharon was born on July 12, 1952, to Arnie Oree and Ivy Mayhair Lovett in Brewton, Alabama. She graduated from Jay High School in Jay, Florida. Sharon married Ron Moffitt on September 19, 1970, in Berrydale, Florida. In addition to being a loving mother and dedicated homemaker, she was employed at the Aledo Walmart for 23 years. Sharon was a member of the First Baptist Church of Aledo where she helped run the nursery for over 30 years. She enjoyed counted cross-stitching, singing, attending the kids’ sporting events, collecting a variety of knickknacks and decorations, and travelling, especially to the Upper Peninsula and Wisconsin.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Ron; son, Scott (Becky) Moffitt of Aledo; daughter, Ronda Moffitt of Aledo; five grandkids, Mallory, Bryce, Tanner, Veronica, and Darron; a first great grandchild lovingly expected; brother, Adon (Cathy) Lovett of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerry Lovett; sister, Shirley Baker; and brother-in-law, Brady Baker.
