Sherrard (17-2) picked up a signature win by defeating Dyett (14-5) 49-41 at Wharton Field House Saturday.
Dyett made a three-pointer on its first possession to go ahead 3-0, which was the Eagles’ only lead of the game. Sherrard answered with an 8-0 run and never relinquished the lead. The Tigers held a 26-12 advantage at halftime, pushing the lead to 16 points in the third quarter.
Rylan Carton scored a game-high 21 points for Sherrard. Carter Brown added 14.
Devon Shelton scored 10 points to pace Dyett.
Dyett is ranked No. 6 in this week’s IHSA 2A AP boys basketball poll.
