The Rockridge School District announcing its “return to school” draft plan. Face coverings (Masks) are required at all times for everyone inside the school building. Parents/Guardians will have an opportunity to choose between in-person learning and a remote learning model. They will need to make a decision for the duration of the first quarter. The remote learning option would not be the same as it was in the spring. The Illinois State Board of Education has indicated they will release more guidance on remote learning, as it will be more rigorous, and students will have enhanced accountability for grading, attendance and learning standards. Full in-school learning will be five days per week with a shortened school day for students in grades PreK-6 through the month of September. Those students will be dismissed approximately one hour prior to normal times. First day of student attendance will be on August 18th. Every student in grades K-12 will have a Chromebook assigned for personal use.
The plan could change since guidance from the Illinois Department of Health (IDPH) and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) is rapidly changing as well.
