Rockridge and Sherrard both opened the 2024 Rockridge Softball Spring Classic with two wins in Muscatine Friday.
The Rockets (25-3, 10-1 TRAC West) beat West Central, 1-0, and Macomb, 4-1. Kendra Lewis hurled a no-hitter in the win against West Central and struck out eight betters in seven innings. Taylor Dieterich drove in the only run of the game in the win. Rockridge plays Normal Community West and Manteno Saturday.
Sherrard (20-8, 8-3 TRAC West) got wins over Pearl City, 10-0, and Macomb, 17-0. Across the two games, Ava Hartman went 3-5 with two home runs and seven RBI. Nadia Anderson knocked in five runs for the Tigers on the day. On Saturday, Sherrard plays United Township and St. Bede.
