The opening of the new Aledo Market Plaza will take place later this month. A ribbon cutting ceremony is set for Thursday, April 24 at 1 p.m. The Market Plaza is a modern event space with outdoor seating, streetscape improvements, and improved event infrastructure—lighting and electrical outlets for vendors and guests. The project cost approximately $4.7 million, which was partially funded by $3 million in grant funding from the Rebuild Illinois Downtown and Main Street Capital grant program, awarded in 2022.
