A juvenile charged in the fire that destroyed Viola’s St. John’s Catholic Church remains in his parents’ custody under certain conditions. Mercer County State’s Attorney Grace Simpson tells WRMJ that restitution figures are being determined in the case and the 12-year-old boy will return to Mercer County Circuit Court on Aug. 10 for a pre-trial conference. He faces an arson charge in juvenile court. The fire occurred in the early morning hours of May 27.
