Plambeck Sentencing Scheduled For Thursday

The sentencing hearing set for this week for a Sherrard woman found guilty of 11 felony animal cruelty counts earlier this year. 61-year-old Karen Plambeck. was originally scheduled to be sentenced Sept. 16, but her new attorney asked for and was granted the continuance to Oct. 11, and then it was reset again to this Thursday.
Plambeck was found guilty during a bench trial last March.
She was charged following an August of 2022 investigation where 198 dogs were rescued from her property.
All 198 dogs were forfeited to the care of Mercer County Animal Control. Over $170,000 worth of veterinary and boarding costs were introduced as evidence in a court hearing in September of 2022.
