New Windsor Man Charged In Child Porn Investigation; Being Held On $500,000 Bond

Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation announce the arrest of a New Windsor man in a child porn investigation. 59 year old James A. Pierson is facing three Class X felony counts of Disseminating Child Pornography. Class X felonies are punishable by 6-to-30 years in prison upon conviction. State police initiated an investigation in January after receiving information Pierson was allegedly engaged in possessing, disseminating, and manufacturing child pornography. A thorough investigation ensued, and through the investigation, investigators gathered digital evidence supporting the arrest. Pierson was arrested Wednesday morning and is being held in the Mercer County Jail on $500,000 bond. The investigation was conducted along with local, state, and federal law enforcement partnerships to include the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Kewanee Police Department, New Windsor Police Department, Illinois Attorney General’s Office – Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), and federal authorities.
