A New Boston man is now wanted on escape charges after failing to report to the Mercer County Jail for transfer to the Illinois Department of Corrections. 46 year old Trevor Shoemaker was to surrender to local authorities Monday, but was a no show. He was sentenced to five-and-a-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections earlier this month after pleading guilty to a Class 3 felony of possession of methamphetamine. The charge stemmed from a February arrest.
