National Weather Service Releases Spring 2020 Mississippi River Flood Outlook

Much above normal risk of major spring flooding along the Mississippi River. That’s the headline from the Spring Flood Outlook from the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities. Meteorologist Andy Ervin spoke with WRMJ Friday morning.

 

Specifically, the chance of exceeding 20 feet at Lock and Dam 17 in New Boston and 17.6 feet at Keithsburg is projected at 90-percent this spring. Flood stage at Lock and Dam 17 in New Boston is 15 feet and 14 feet in Keithsburg.
