A Milan man is facing numerous felony charges in Mercer County stemming from a police pursuit that originated near the Mercer/Rock Island County line earlier this month.
According to a Mercer County Sheriff’s Department press release, deputies stopped a fleeing vehicle on April 15 and arrested the driver, 61-year-old James Allan Taets. He is being held in the Mercer County Jail awaiting a June 3 preliminary hearing. Taets is charged with a Class X felony of aggravated DUI, and also felony counts of possession of meth, driving revoked, aggravated fleeing, and resisting a peace officer.
