Those rural Mercer County roots continue to play an important role for Southern Illinois University president Randy Dunn. The Eliza native recently returned home and caught up with WRMJ.
Dunn is a 1976 graduate of Westmer High School. He previously served as the State School Supt. for the Illinois State Board of Education from 2004 to 2007. The Illinois State University grad earned his first teaching job in 1980 in Gibson City, Illinois and worked at rural districts around the state including Paw Paw, Roanoke-Benson, Argenta and Chester.
