Martin William Allen, 81, of New Windsor, Illinois passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Allure of Knox County in Galesburg, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, October 23, at the Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Alpha, Illinois. The graveside service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 24, at the New Windsor (Petrie) Cemetery. Martin was born on April 30, 1942, in Galesburg, the son of Fred William and Alice Pauline Stewart Allen. After graduating from Winola High School Martin joined the United States Army where he proudly served his country in Vietnam. He owned and operated the New Windsor Amoco Standard Station, where he served the community as a mechanic. Martin also farmed in the surrounding area.
He is survived by two sisters, Sandra Hay of Aledo and Sharon Otten of LeClaire, Iowa; one sister-in-law, Judy Allen of New Windsor; and nine nieces and nephews.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Max Allen.
