The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Board of Directors has announced a state final hosting contract extension Thursday for the IHSA Boys Basketball State Finals at the State Farm Center on the University of Illinois campus in Champaign-Urbana, through the 2028-29 season.
The contract extension is five years in length and will encompass the 2024-25, 2025-26, 2026-27, 2027-28, and 2028-29 state tournaments. The IHSA Boys Basketball State Finals returned to the State Farm Center in 2022. The initial contract for the state tournament in Champaign expired at the end of the 2023-24 season.
The IHSA will maintain the three-day format (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) that was adopted prior to the 2022 state finals. The daily game and time schedule is being reviewed by the IHSA Basketball Advisory Committee and will be finalized at the IHSA Board of Directors meeting in June.
