A defense motion for release pending sentencing has been denied for a Seaton man found guilty in a sex abuse case. The ruling was entered late last week in Mercer County Circuit Court for 52-year-old Mark Hockenberry.
He was remanded to the Mercer County Jail following a four-day bench trial last February.
Hockenberry was charged in November of 2022 with predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse in connection with allegations in 2020, 2021, and 2022 involving a female youth.
He will be sentenced April 22. He has also retained a new attorney.
