Helen Jean was born July 22, 1930, in Marston, Illinois, in Duncan Township, Mercer County, Illinois, to George M. and M. Josephine (Kistler) Taylor. She was blessed to marry Connie Randolph on June 10, 1948, in Reynolds. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2023.

Helen entered into Heaven to hear her Heavenly Father say to her: as the scripture says, Mathew 25:23, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Helen dedicated her life to the Lord, her church, and her family. She lived her whole life in the Marston/Reynolds area, and after her marriage, she lived on the family farm in Duncan Township, where she and Connie farmed together and raised their family.

Helen cherished the time spent with her family. Her church family was a treasure to her. Helen truly enjoyed cooking and canning the fruits and vegetables that they grew. She always fed the “men” who were working on the farm. Another of her specialties was serving family, neighbors, and church family members a wonderful meal after church on Sunday. She also loved to look at the flowers that dad planted and grew beautifully.

Helen first attended Antioch Baptist Church, as a two-day old infant, and soon became a member. A long-time Christian woman, Helen was a Christian mentor to this little country church, as well as to her family, friends, and neighbors. She was a Sunday school teacher at Antioch Baptist Church for many years and enjoyed serving as a member of the Mission Circle. She lived by the amazing motto, love one another, and always put Jesus first! One of her favorite Bible scriptures was, John 14:6, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Helen is survived by her children, Janet Solis, of Zacatecas, Mexico, and Mike and Tracey Randolph of Reynolds; grandchildren, Joel and Toni Solis, Nathan Solis, Ethan Solis, Amy and Dale Jones, Sean and Torri Randolph, Nicole and Chad Henry, Tom and Anna Lesnet, and Makayla Randolph; 16 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas; son-in-law, Jose Solis; a great granddaughter, Charlie; and siblings, Lowell Taylor, Eleanor Bull, and Allyne Fox.
