Farmers-Merchants Bank of Illinois has donated a total of $10,000 to the Village of Joy and the City of New Boston. Joy is receiving $8,000 and New Boston was awarded $2,000. The donations were sourced through a COVID-19 Relief Program Grant provided by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago.
The funds will help Joy remodel its pavilion, as it has served as a community gathering location for more than 60 years.
New Boston will use the funds to complete its Veteran’s Memorial, a landscaped green space with tablets for each branch of service that stands to honor all veterans who have served in times of war and peace.
