Class X Felony Meth Case Continued To September In Mercer County

A Class X felony methamphetamine case has been continued to later this year for a Reynolds man. 38 year old Cainen Young will return to Mercer County Circuit Court on September 5th.  He is also facing a Class 1 felony of possession of meth; Class 4 felony of aggravated fleeing; and two more Class 4 felony counts of criminal damage to property in addition to misdemeanor charges–including possession of drug paraphernalia as well as traffic citations for driving under the influence of drugs and driving on revoked license—all stemming from his arrest last March.
Young is also charged in Rock Island County with felony counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer and criminal damage to property. An August 4th court date is set for that case. He remains in custody at the Rock Island County Jail. Class X felonies are punishable by 6-to-30 years in prison upon conviction.
