A Quad Cities area woman charged in a rural Sherrard drug-induced death investigation is having her case continued next month.
The March 9 pre-trial conference was set for 54-year-old Susan McFalls of Colona, who appeared in Mercer County Circuit Court last week. The delay was attributed to the defense.
McFalls is charged with first-degree murder and a Class X felony of drug-induced homicide via accountability stemming from the death of Anthony Qualls of rural Sherrard in December 2023.
She was granted pre-trial release in May 2024.
A co-defendant in the case, 43-year-old William DeWitt of Milan, is also facing first-degree murder and drug-induced homicide counts. He was released from custody last month and will return to court on April 6.
Both have pleaded not guilty to all charges.
