The Relay for Life of Mercer County Radiothon returns to WRMJ on Monday, April 28th from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., and one of the day’s featured guests will be local cancer survivor Diane Dunn.
Dunn brings a message of hope and resilience as she shares her experience overcoming not one, but three separate cancer diagnoses. Her battle began in 2014 with a melanoma diagnosis after spotting a small mole on her leg. “At first the doctor said it would be fine,” said Dunn. “But the next day, she called and said we needed to get it taken care of.”
Dunn emphasizes the importance of listening to your body and seeking medical care when something feels off. “I made some really smart decisions,” she said. “Especially with melanoma—it was caught early, and that made all the difference.”
Now living an active and healthy lifestyle, Dunn says she plays pickleball, rides bikes, and takes walks nearly every day. “Cancer can be beat,” she said. “It’s good to be able to get up every morning and look at yourself and say, ‘Hey, do something today’.”
Tune in to WRMJ on Monday, April 28th for Diane’s story and to support the Relay for Life Radiothon by making a donation to help cancer patients, caregivers, and families in the fight.
