Mercer County School District To Hire Deputy Superintendent At Special Board Meeting Tuesday

The Mercer County School District has scheduled a special school board meeting to hire a deputy superintendent this week.

The meeting scheduled for Tuesday lists creating a deputy superintendent position and hiring a deputy superintendent/superintendent on a multi-year contract as action items.

The Mercer County School District is currently utilizing its second interim superintendent, Scott Petrie, following superintendent Tim Farquer’s arrest in September. Alan Boucher’s time as Mercer County School District interim superintendent ended earlier this month.

Farquer has been on paid administrative leave since his arrest, which has led to the Mercer County School District paying both Farquer’s $171,223 annual salary and the interim superintendent who is currently serving. Earlier this month, the Mercer County School District eliminated 25 positions, citing a dire need to cut costs.
